My name’s Tom Manson.
I’ve worn a lot of hats in this life. I’m a navy veteran, a student, a graphic designer (my design portfolio is here), an amateur photographer (check out my Instagram @twmanson), a strong towns advocate, a Buddhism enthusiast, and a cat collector, and, to the occasional dismay of others (and also myself), a cracker of wise.
I wrote and illustrated a book called “Emily Hates Everything,” which you can download here, provided you have an Apple-branded device. Contact me directly and I’ll email you an EPUB or PDF version, depending on your request. There’s no print version as of yet, but I’m open to the idea.
I also designed and developed this theme. It’s not much, but it doesn’t need to be, and I figured there’s no good reason to weigh it down with features I’m not going to use, excessive animations, or a “desktop-oriented” layout that’s just going to distract. But if you want to play with it, pick it apart, or just look at the code, you can find it on my Github.
As a graphic designer, let me be the first to say that the typography on this website is atrocious. You can either have tried-and-true fonts, or free fonts, and I went with the latter.
I’m a person, not a product. This blog has no target audience in mind, and nothing in particular to sell. I have no “expert testimony” or numbered clickbait lists. If you do catch me talking politics, I’ll be talking issues and not candidates, party, or partisanship. There’s no agenda other than to talk about whatever I happen to feel like at the time.
In other words, it’s what a blog was always supposed to be.
Just like me, expect this blog to make little big changes constantly. The most recent little big change was reinstalling this theme I created. It might not be considered best practices, but you can click the masthead to open the main navigation menu.
